??? I know nothing about that. What does your antivirus tell you? From where did you download the SyMenu package? |

You are crazy.... When I realized, I laughed to tears....
Seriously. My experience is similar to yours. Windows is becoming more and more an empty box to execute SyMenu and its hundred of programs |

Hello Ilias. I tried to reproduce your issue unsuccessfully. Which OS are you using? Are you able to launch Firefox Portable in elevate mode without using SyMenu? (Right click on Firefox Portable, Properties, Compatibility, Run this program as an administrator) |

Nice suggestions. I'll put them in the TODO list for a future study because I'm currently involved in another activity: the SPS reorganization. Well, as you surely know we reach 1090 SPS! It's the largest freeware suite worldwide and need my full attention :-) |

"Open with program" command/execution mode?

Unfortunately the contextual menu component I'm using for SyMenu doesn't allow other contextual menus rising from it. So we can forget the right click thing.
But something in your post turn on a light in my mind. HansBKK wrote:
Allow for more than one program to be registered per file extension, just as native Windows [...] Using your suggestion along with the extension manager we have the solution! When you have more than one registered program for a single extension, the extension manager doesn't launch a program but simply popups a little box where you can select the program to use to open the file... exactly as Windows does. What do you think about it? |

Indeed this seems to be a problem in the Firefox portable launcher. Maybe you should report the problem to the portable apps web site... and please report only the Run As Administrator thing, otherwise mentioning SyMenu, they will probably refuse the report |

Not at all but I can imagine where the problem is. You have the Extension manager active, haven't you? Try to temporary disable it and let me know if the message box issue is solved.
I don't understand if with the AutoIT normal installed version the problem with the message box has been solved. |

Sure there is. I only needed to know if the Ex manager was the cause. As soon as I have some time, I'll try to figure out the bug. In the meanwhile you can enable / disable Ex manager without restarting SyMenu direcly from within your contextual menu. If you go to Options - Structure you can add to your contextual menu the Enable Extension Manager element which is a toggle button that allows to control the Ex manager status faster. Stay tuned. |

Ok this time I understood the joke
Since you are using the Ext Manager I can tell you a secret... but don't say a word to anyone. From the next version the Extension manager will be able to manage more than one program for the same extension. In case you define two or more programs for the same extension a nice selection window will appear and allow you to choose which one to launch! A sort of "Open with" tool. |

Since there is no threat in symenu I imagine is the same. If you trust the program report the false positive please. |

Guys if you trust SyMenu please report the false positive to your AV producers otherwise uninstall SyMenu. Sorry but I'm unarmed in front of a false positive report. |

Which operating system are you using? Is it XP? It seems you have visual style disabled. Have you got the same problem in SyMenu configuration form? Can you check for me please?
For now please try to enable visual style in your general theme if your OS allows for that and for the program (SyMenu properties - Compatibility).
Let me know something please. |
