I use to develop small scripts, this great tool "AutoIt"
I have a problem on my mew PC (W10) where a video editor freeze although it works perfectly on another machine.
I want to write a program to compare DLLs used on both PC (too complicated with spreadsheet)

Start writing & testing the prog with Scite/AutoIt and find the following: (1)
When Symenu is started it prevents AutoIt to display MessageBox correctly (or any other disply which pauses script)
As soon as I close Symenu things become "normal"

Did you ever heard about that?

(1) tested with a portable version then download and install a brand new last version of AutoIt & Scite
Previously compiled scripts work fine

Not at all but I can imagine where the problem is.
You have the Extension manager active, haven't you? Try to temporary disable it and let me know if the message box issue is solved.

I don't understand if with the AutoIT normal installed version the problem with the message box has been solved.

Thanks for quick response

Yes I had Ext Manager active
so I disabled Extension Manager
Close & restart Symenu

Then tried AutoIt/scite (both versions Installed and portable thru Symenu)
Problem solved in both cases, even with symenu started

But it's a bypas not a final solution as I'll need Ext Manager at some stage ...
hope there is a definite solution .......

Lupusbalo

answer to your question: previously (with ext mang active) problem also occured with the installed version of scite/autoIt

Sure there is.
I only needed to know if the Ex manager was the cause.
As soon as I have some time, I'll try to figure out the bug. In the meanwhile you can enable / disable Ex manager without restarting SyMenu direcly from within your contextual menu.
If you go to Options - Structure you can add to your contextual menu the Enable Extension Manager element which is a toggle button that allows to control the Ex manager status faster.
Stay tuned.

Glad to hear that!!

Now that I have a bypass, and as I do not write dozens of program everyday, I think I can wait
......say ........ a day or 2 .........smile smile smile
but remember guy "I'll be back" Darth Lightsabers

(I already have the toggle entry in the context menu and use it
For the test, I just stopped & restarted Symenu to make sure most conditions were restored)

Ok this time I understood the joke smile smile

Since you are using the Ext Manager I can tell you a secret... but don't say a word to anyone.
From the next version the Extension manager will be able to manage more than one program for the same extension.
In case you define two or more programs for the same extension a nice selection window will appear and allow you to choose which one to launch! A sort of "Open with" tool.
