What configuration language do you use in SyMenu? I have seen the button in English but not in Italian or in Spanish (see the attached sreenshots) |

The "window maximize" button is unavailable in the three languages (you can see in the screenshots above). And if I minimize to the bar (the window disappears) and push back to retrieve, the button still does not appear. I can resize the window but even when it is very large and there is a lot of place, the button does not appear. edited by VVV_Easy_Symenu on 27/11/2015 |

V.4.14-UAC features not work with built-in adminis
VVV_Easy_Symenu

V.4.14-The UAC SyMenu features does not work with the Windows built-in administrator account. I describe how to reproduce the bug. 1) Three accounts:
- "UserSyMenu" -> Normal Users Group
- "Owner" and "Administrator" (Built-in administrator) -> Administrators Group
2) Running with "UserSymenu" (NO UAC authorization):
- Elevating with password "Owner" ->UAC=OK; Shield=OK (appears)
- Elevating with password "Administrator" -> UAC=OK, Shield=NOK (no appears)
(Note: To be able to use built-in administrator account: "net user administrator /active:yes" or with "lusrmgr.msc"). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Even it is not important issue, it's a pity to keep without fixing so I want to try to help. I think it is easy to detect if you work in "Elevate mode" with the Windows CMD "whoami" For instance the following solution:
- whoami /groups | find "S-1-16-12288" && Echo I am running elevated, so I must be an admin anyway ;-)
works fine in Elevated CMD windows with the build in Administrator and with "normal" administrator account. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Links: Windows CMD "whoami" Proposed Solution: Windows Integrity Mechanism Design (Mandatory Levels): Security Identifiers Technical Overview: Windows desktop applications > Design > Guidelines > Windows Environment > User Account Control

"option for item - run as administrator ..." I like it too: Add "UAC shield icon" for programs that need UAC: Add to the Configuration Form an option to report to SyMenu to add the "UAC shield" to the program icon (as windows do). Hello, Something strange happened to me with the new beta version: it not work anymore in one computer. In this computer even with a new downloaded file, in a completely new folder I don't arrive to get the First Configuration procedure with any of three betas versions. But the estable SyMenu works fine! I think it happens after a file synchronization with the host computer (perhaps SyMenu was running and some system dll is jammed? when I tried to run the any beta I can see that there are three processes SyMenu open but with 0% CPU) I have restarted the computer several times (verifying that SyMenu process was closed) without success. The OS is Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1.
Fortunately using the the stable version files over the current folders (I don't use the new features) all run without losing settings or installed programs. edited by VVV_Easy_Symenu on 30/12/2015 |

I just changed the executable SyMenu.exe "stable" version with the executable last "beta" version (copy and paste) and SyMenu no longer works. It hangs even before displaying anything with three processes launched. I can not kill these processes. I tried without sucess with Task Manager and with FileGovenor:
In a second try I have revised with System Explorer:
After restarting the computer (for killing the hanged processes) I changed the executable SyMenu.exe last "beta" version with the executable SyMenu.exe "stable" version (copy and paste) and SyMenu returns working fine. edited by VVV_Easy_Symenu on 31/12/2015 |

Hello, Too many days without forum movement, some fun facts of SyMenu to hang out.
SUMo (Software Update Monitor): (http://www.kcsoftwares.com/?sumo) SUMO users = 1233 (http://www.kcsoftwares.com/sumo/view.php?prot=2&ProductName=SUMo&Company=KC Softwares) In this database:
SyMenu = 6 (http://www.kcsoftwares.com/sumo/view.php?prot=2&ProductName=SyMenu&Company=UGMFree) 5.0.5835.35787 = 1 (17%) (Perhaps am I?) 4.14.5796.29789 (current) = 5 (83%)
PortableApps is 12 years old (March 2004, http://portableapps.com/about), nearly 100 developers and SUMo is in his repository! Liberkey is more than 9 years old ("since 2007", http://www.liberkey.com/en/changelog.html), and SUMo is in his repository! Symenu Portable Suite is the youngest (version 0.94 [2008.11.03], http://www.ugmfree.it/SyMenuDownload.aspx) and SUMo is not in the repository!
For me it is very good result. Congratulations Gianluca!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (PS: One idea, when I saw these applications repositories I thought that perhaps SyMenu can add to the repository SPS one feature of number of active users of the apps, always voluntary for privacy. It is a difficult decision but it may serve to encourage developers and select the best portable applications in each category.) |

- Easy to use
- Flexible and Powerful
- Open

Request feature for "Get new apps SPS" window

Hello, Problem: Fortunately today there are many apps in the SPS Suite and the new ones are highlighted with a sign of "NEW". But it's hard to find them with the eyes. Proposed solutions: 1) A "New" filter button that hide the old apps. 2) Add a column in the apps list of the window "Get new apps SPS" with the "SPS date" and allow to ordenate by this column (for me this is a better solution)
Thanks for Symenu and ... Cheer up with the work of SyMenu 5 ! |

I choose to use a program because it is:
- 1) Open, freeware and portable
2) Reliable 3) Easy to use 4) Flexible and powerful (SyMenu is a good example of this) This is not easy to get, so I'm trying to include my personal elections in SPS Suite. I only hope these portables apps help someone. |

Thank you for you consideration. I think that the two dates are good, the date "Released" tells us the age of the App The information of "SPS date" is that in this maner we know that a creator of SPS App added a program that believes that is better (or not existant) than what we already had in the suite. |

I've found the way to see what I needed: sort by date in the file browser the list of _Cache folder. And also I see if my published SPS's have been updated. Not very elegant but it works. |
