- add links to https://www.ugmfree.it/ SOMEWHERE in the menu - even the 'About' doesn't offer a link (neither to the forums)?

- replace 'Notepad2' (2017) with... 'Notepad3' - Notepad3 - Rizonesoft - Portable version updated last month:

- (this is about the mechanism for updates - I experienced it with another app as well, but that got updated, via SPS, eventually)

PDFsam Basic 4.3.4. notified me about a new version (5.0.2) on opening - I waited a few weeks, assuming it would update in SPS. It didn't, so I replaced the files manually (in my local folder), adding the SPS-version file as well: SPS still wants to "update" it (see below): (now even V 5.0.3 can be downloaded from their site). So, from V 4.3.4, SPS doesn't update it anymore?

- somehow most of my menu-icons disappeared (I "think" (!) after installing FileMenuTools, but can't confirm - and would have to uninstall it....). A 'refresh icons' button would solve this? ('Reload' doesn't do it).

Thanks anyway for SPS!

A back link to the website is already available on the About window on the SyMenu version 8, the beta one, available here https://www.ugmfree.it/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=840
I won't touch the old brench anymore.

Done, you'll find it available tomorrow. And BTW, thank you for the tip!

Your assumption is good. Unfortunately for PDFSam the editor that took it, decided to leave without alerting me. This is the reason for the obsolescence.
I've just taken it and tomorrow it'll be updated. For the future you can wait for my update.

I don't have a clue about it. You have a folder Icons in your SyMenu root folder. If you see the lost icons inside, the problem could be fixed with a SyMenu restart otherwise you screw the SyMenu configuration file... but I think it's very unlikely.

I don't think FileMenu tools could be the problem, its interests are for Windows Explorer not for SyMenu

Hi Gianluca,

Thanks for fast reply!

I now see what happened with the Icons - though I don't understand why. Just letting you know, with screenshots. (I only figured out AFTER your reply, as you mentioned something about config-file and I didn't know which one you meant - browsing folders, I noticed BOTH icon-folders.
Not sure why it happened, as I have not changed anything, lately (it was created 5 years ago....)

Anyway, hope this helps.

Main folder:

D:\0-SyMenu\Config\Icons (341 icons/files, 413kb)

This folder NOW provides the icons for the menu (as I showed you earlier):

D:\0-SyMenu\Icons (33 icons/files)

Somehow it switched icon-folder....

The ones in the new/small folder, are (much) newer - so I kept those:

And.... we're good (again!)

Is it possible you use one of the SyMenu command line? You can find them here https://www.ugmfree.it/manual#CommandLine but in particular I'm speaking about -fi

-fi is a redirector that change the Icons folder expected location.

If you find the Icons folder inside the Config folder the only way it could be happened is with that folder redirection.

There is a joke I love to quote in this cases.

You can read it here smilesmilesmilesmile

Nope. Never touched it (and following your chart, I should have trashed it wink )

Tried to find that setting in config (file?), but can't find it. I figured in: 'D:\0-SyMenu\Config\SyMenuConfig\SyMenuConfig.xml' (zipped) - no luck.

Again, figured it out - just wanted to let you know.

Plus, PDFsam Basic updated to 5.0.3

Thanks - both installed!

From the same people - portable:

Firemin - Rizonesoft

Thanks for your speedy replies, here.
(not sure what your policy is for adding apps to your repository - will update here anyway, so you can decide)

It's a setting for the command line.
It means you can execute SyMenu this way:
..\symenu.exe -fi"AlternativePath"

It's enough to execute it once and your Icon folder is created in the alternative path.

My policy is to add only the programs I like more necause I've already too much programs to manage.
Anyway if you like you can add it by yourself and become SPS editor. The SPS Suite is an open suite and everybody can add new entries.
