Latest version extremely slow

Clean "install" of latest version. Program is extremely slow to start, over 1 minute. Tried downloading NirSoft Suite. Each app downloads quickly but then Symenu sits there with installation completed, in some cases for 4+ minutes before downloading the next app. Clicking on the progress window results in a window white out (ie.not responding) with the circle busy icon, for about 30 secs, then window snaps back to responsiveness and next app downloads for the process to repeat again.
My PC is a very capable PC so I'm sure it's not hardware.
