This happens from time to time.
I go maybe 3/4 hrs without using the menu, hit the hotkey, the program appears briefly as a faintly transparent window, then crashes and I have to open it again. This happens every day.

It could happen if the unit where SyMenu has started has been removed and eventually reconnected. Even if SyMenu is working from an internal disk could suffer when Windows switch off the HD due to inactivity and reconnect it when you call SyMenu.
To check my assumption try to move SyMenu in the HD where you have your OS (usually C and use it from there for a while. If the bug doesn't appear using SyMenu normally (with the 3/4 hrs pause stoo) the reason is what I described above.

Well in this case I don't know why that is happening. Try to send to me in private the stack trace next time it happens.

There doesn`t appear to be any crash entry written. The software just flickers for a second trying to load then closes.
Happened 2/3 times yesterday.

Really strange. I can configure my SyMenu like yours and try to use it normally as I do. Let's see if the bug depends on configuration. What do you mean with "just flickers for a second trying to load"??? What do you see exactly?

I see the menu begin to appear, very transparent, then it disappears. At that point its crashed. Its too fast to take a screenshot, sorry.

Well anyway in thise case a screenshot is useless. I'm trying your same configuration since some days but I haven't reproduced the problem yet. My proposal for you is to wait for the next version. In case the problem remains I'll prepare a version for you with an active logger to understand.where the bug is.
