Dear users.
The new version is out.
Finally SyMenu can be executed from a network path and can execute programs available on a network path.
I'm very interested in your feedback on this topic because it has been really complex to implement.
I know that several sysadmins use SyMenu and this is a typical feature that you will love so... guys I'm counting on you.

It's working great so far for me. I had been using the BETA with network support for quite some time and am now using the released version. Nice work!

Hi Gianluca,
First ofall, SyMenu help me a lot when I migrated from W7 to W8, having something thatworks as before (Perfect !) without the new W8 interfaces was a marvelous help. /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Tabla normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;}
My question is about one of the new features of v2.09, i.e. "New control panel applet list for Windows 7 and 8" as I'm not a good technician I'm not so sure about the functionality of it, please can you clarify a little the purpose of this.
As usual many thanks in advance.
Greetings from Catalonia (Spain).

Hello Sir_X.

The SyMenu search feature is a so powerful tool (I guess you've already noticed that) and it allows to search among SyItems, SyMenu tools, on the file system (with the F3 key modifier), on the Start Menu and could find various system utilities available on your OS.

For example try to search for "Program and features" or try "Mouse", "Keyboard", "Services", "Microsoft Management Console" and so on.
As a result you'll find useful tools available on your system Control Panel and in other PC locations.

With the last version of SyMenu I linked the search results to the new versions of this particular programs available on Windows 7 and 8.
Well this new behavior is quite transparent for a non-sysadmin user but very useful if you know what you are serching for.
For example you can open "Credential manager", "Indexing Options", "Biometric Devices" (only if you have some biometric devices on your PC), "BitLocker Drive Encryption" and so on.

Hi Gianluca,

First of all, terrible sorry for the involuntary "garbage" included in my message; I'm working with 3 PCs more or less at the same time (Win7 professional, Win 8.1 and Linux Mint) and I made some mistake moving from one virtual machine to the other one.

Many thanks for your answer, it clarifies totally my doubt.

Regards from Catalonia.
