So much better - using the border-color of the main menu - small improvement, big impact, as I always 'lost' the window (esp. on lighter backgrounds).

Yes, same here - SysInternals-tab stroke-out - no hint they are moved to the main tab......
On the main tab, I can search on 'Publisher', but there is no publisher-column - meaning, I can't tell which apps were moved - sorting would help?
(it actually seems the ones that I had installed (under their own tab), are now 'uninstalled'? I hope this doesn't happen to the NirSoft-apps: I have about 12 of them installed, but I can't remember which ones, once 'removed'?)
So:
- please add a 'Pulisher' column
- move installed apps to the main tab - keeping them installed
- add some information-banner with important updates/changes (not the complete change-log, only things that have an impact on the user(experience)

I'm good (enough) as it is - though being able to change that border-color (on, say, a daily basis....) would be much more convenient, of course. Thanks! |

Weird - I don't see any apps in the SysInt tab, yet it is displayed - but stroke-out:

Category is useful, as the name is not always indicative enough? But I wonder how relevant Size is - they are not 1GB installations.....
So, before removing the tab and all its content, install the programs you want to preserve in the main suite please.
How? Because they are installed already? Or can/should I reinstall them only once the NirSoft tab gets stroke out? Because then they become available in the main tab?
Personally I feel you should just move them to the main tab - and then remove the respective tab - less work, less confusion..... |

Late to the party... Wasn't aware of PA's 'stifling' attitude. I saw John's confusing replies elsewhere on this forum and it solved.... nothing.
Although this obviously is 'under the hood' (I don't think I have experienced any of it, as a user of both PA and SPS), it is disheartening. But, not completely unexpected: my biggest beef with PA is the ridiculous message when an App has crashed: "You didn't close the app properly, restart it now". John H. dared to explain that as a 'learning-moment', so that people close their apps according to the rules. Has he ever worked with Windows? Seen the BSOD? Because I had that happen, in the past (Win 10 is stable(r)) - having to restart my PC and then 5 or 6 PA's, because clearly I'm one of those users that don't conform to PA's closing-rules... Truly insidious and redundant: if you can show a nagging-screen, you can also restart the app (for me)?
That got me thinking - how do I migrate my PA's to SPS? I started searching for my most important apps and they mostly are supported by SPS - good news.
So:
- why not create some migration tool - showing which PA-apps match in SPS by scanning my PA-folder
- how to transfer a PA-app to SPS? Both suites are on my D:\-drive - they just (?) would have to be moved physically?
Anyway - thanks for SPS (I wished I could donate to you without using woke-Paypal - they suck, I don't want them to benefit any longer from my money). |

- add links to https://www.ugmfree.it/ SOMEWHERE in the menu - even the 'About' doesn't offer a link (neither to the forums)?
- replace 'Notepad2' (2017) with... 'Notepad3' - Notepad3 - Rizonesoft - Portable version updated last month:
- (this is about the mechanism for updates - I experienced it with another app as well, but that got updated, via SPS, eventually)
PDFsam Basic 4.3.4. notified me about a new version (5.0.2) on opening - I waited a few weeks, assuming it would update in SPS. It didn't, so I replaced the files manually (in my local folder), adding the SPS-version file as well: SPS still wants to "update" it (see below): (now even V 5.0.3 can be downloaded from their site). So, from V 4.3.4, SPS doesn't update it anymore?
- somehow most of my menu-icons disappeared (I "think" (!) after installing FileMenuTools, but can't confirm - and would have to uninstall it....). A 'refresh icons' button would solve this? ('Reload' doesn't do it).

I now see what happened with the Icons - though I don't understand why. Just letting you know, with screenshots. (I only figured out AFTER your reply, as you mentioned something about config-file and I didn't know which one you meant - browsing folders, I noticed BOTH icon-folders.
Not sure why it happened, as I have not changed anything, lately (it was created 5 years ago....)
Anyway, hope this helps.
Main folder:
D:\0-SyMenu\Config\Icons (341 icons/files, 413kb)
This folder NOW provides the icons for the menu (as I showed you earlier):
D:\0-SyMenu\Icons (33 icons/files)
Somehow it switched icon-folder....
The ones in the new/small folder, are (much) newer - so I kept those:
And.... we're good (again!)

Nope. Never touched it (and following your chart, I should have trashed it  )
Tried to find that setting in config (file?), but can't find it. I figured in: 'D:\0-SyMenu\Config\SyMenuConfig\SyMenuConfig.xml' (zipped) - no luck.
Again, figured it out - just wanted to let you know.

A program-button would help, for starting SyMenu (as I don't want it to start automatically). The icon in the notifications-area and the floating button do work for me, so no need to fix anything there. |
