Feature request – Create shortcuts of all apps

I recently found SyMenu and LOVE it. Thank you very much for creating this great program. I’m using it local on my desktop machines and notebooks as replacement for the “normal” installer versions as the ability to install and update programs with just a few clicks is a godsend.
While the menu of the program is great for a pen drive I’d rather like to be able to open the programs through the Windows start menu.
I saw that there is already an option to create temporary desktop shortcuts, so my request would be an extension of that feature. Would it be possible to add an option to create shortcuts of all installed apps (including the folder structure), so that I can easily add them to my Windows start menu? I also saw that the temporary desktop shortcuts have the launch parameter also inside the comments. I don’t know if that's necessary from the technical standpoint but I would love to have the app description as comment instead. Thanks for your time

First of all thanks for considering my request! I’m not really using the native Windows Start menu (I don’t really like the Windows 10 one), I use the tool Classic Start Menu to have a tweaked Windows 7 look-a-like version of it. Regarding your question: I’m not a real big fan of the minimalistic and old-fashioned design, it looks like something I could’ve installed on my PC 20 years ago and that’s just not visually appealing to me nowadays. On top of that I don’t like the cascaded folder structure as it’s really messy when you deal with a lot of folders. The scrolling menu with the tree folder structure that Windows 7 uses is far more clean and clear in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, the GUI works really well for the program itself but as Start menu replacement it’s just not for me. |
