It's a honour be integrated in the FAQ, and I have adapted the messages to your proposals (except the launcher, it doesn't work now). In the second message I have wrote the Changelog, the Know issues and the ToDo List or Demanded Features. I hope that this can help to get better the script with all people help. |

AsfBinWin by Radioactivepages: SPS Version

AsfBinWin by Radioactivepages (Radek Strugalski) is a intuitive, fast and reliable tool for processing ASF and WMV files. This makes Asfbin especially powerful when it comes to fixing damaged ASF/WMV files. It can repair almost all types of errors within your favourite video files. Cutting fragments out of all ASF files, precise joining files or selected fragments into one ASF file. Now AsfBin tool comes along with AsfBinWin application, which, thanks to an easy to use user interface and its preview capabilities, makes work with video files really simple. Requires Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable. Web Page: http://www.radioactivepages.com/asfbin.aspx
Note of SPS Publisher: Nowadays SyMenu isn't capable download of url for a user that are navigating in the web site (usually you can recognize these kind of urls because of a parameter like this: c=ad252680e4ae67e716c6b8ea2f9e7cc0). This is the case of this program: I can't be able to find a valid url. In other cases, it's impossible to publish tha app but this it's a small program and is possible to attach here and use as download url for the SPS. I don't like at all this solution looking for respect to the app owner but is this or erase the SPS app. |

Hi Gian, I have the same problem with the DOS scripts but the beta version fix the problem (well I really afraid of loosing or remake all the batch). Thank you very much for you reactivity for resolved the issue.
I find other two more ¿related? problems: 1) "SyMenuRun32or64.exe" Autorun 32 or 64 bit version of app don't work. It gives "File Not found" message. 2) It's not possible launch VBScripts as SyMenu item "Not valid application ...." message.

Hi Gian,
The problem with "launching VBScripts as SyMenu item "Not valid application ...." message" IS FIXED in the new SyMenu.5.07.6205.beta.zip.... you are fast! The problem with: "SyMenuRun32or64.exe" Autorun 32 or 64 bit version of app don't work. It gives "File Not found" message in NOT fixed
(BTW: Perhaps it the moment for think some build solution in SyMenu for the large number of apps with two flavours: x86 and x64 ¿forked items?) I have search in the AutoHotKey script code and I see that it's the script which gives the "File Not found" because:
(SyMenu Path SPSSuite = C:\Users\Public\Portables\!SyMenu\ProgramFiles\SPSSuite\SyMenuSuite) (SyMenuRun32or64.exe Path = C:\Users\Public\Portables\!Macros)
Item call parameter = ".\ProgramFiles\SPSSuite\SyMenuSuite\7-Zip_(x86)_sps\7zFM.exe" Symenu path passed (ERROR) = "C:\Users\Public\Portables\!Macros\ProgramFiles\SPSSuite\SyMenuSuite\7-Zip_(x86)_sps\7zFM.exe" EXPECTED (ancient) Path = "C:\Users\Public\Portables\!SyMenu\ProgramFiles\SPSSuite\SyMenuSuite\ProgramFiles\SPSSuite\SyMenuSuite\7-Zip_(x86)_sps\7zFM.exe
So for the ".\" it passed the relative to the item ¿the workingdir? instead of the true ".\ProgramFiles\SPSSuite..." app path. I hope it helps to you.
Humble, humble, humble request : I exploit that the message is in the topic "new versions" for request (yes, I know, I'm a little bit bore ) the msi Packed Format option. I have been waiting several app of this type for to pass to the SPS SyMenu. Thank you in advance. . edited by VVV_Easy_Symenu on 28/12/2016 |

New SyMenu version 5.07

As you announced SyMenu works with the priority (I add some commentaries for prepare de question):
- 1) the program custom working directory if available (if the user set in Item Advanced option)
2) the program main directory if available (For a SyMenu Program item is always available ¿Isn't it?) 3) the SyMenu base dir (¿are there any possibility of arrive a this option?¿how I can know this dir?) So, in the SyMenuRun32or64 case and with the working dir empty, it resolves ".\" in parameters as the SyMenuRun32or64.exe working dir.
I have tried to adapt the SyMenuRun32or64 to the new situation but I only see two possible solutions:
- 1) Write in the "Working Directory" the SPS App path in "hard" code, so I lost the portability.
- 2) "Cheat" SyMenu saving "SyMenuRun32or64.exe" in the SyMenu folder, (so it returns to me ".\"="C:\Users\Public\Portables\!SyMenu"). But this is not very smart and it is not valid for all.
Of my experience in the plugin "SyMenu Published App Track" I can remember that there is not a environment variable of SyMenu dir path (perhaps may be a good occasion to add one in the SyMenu environment like %SYMENUPATH%)
So, ¿Is it possible to "force" SyMenu to arrive to the three option (the SyMenu base dir as ".\") only in the parameters?
BTW: About create a build in solution for the apps with two flavours: x86 and x64 (or even with Administrator or not Administrator rights, demanded in other topics) I could propose you create a new item "SyProgramsForked" that allows to run one or other "SyPrograms item" or directly one or other applications switch by the environment (X64, X86, elevate, etc). Even it may have properties as visible or not visible switch by the environment. . edited by VVV_Easy_Symenu on 30/12/2016 |

Perhaps the good question resume of all the problem is: ¿How can I manage the SyMenu item for pass in the parameters a relative path pointing to a SyMenu portable dir (not an absolute or system dir) but not the working app dir to preserve the portability? |

Autorun 32 or 64 bit version of app

Non official Update:
- 1) Use of A_Is64bitOS in place of IsOS_64bit() as Jess suggested.
2) Change working directoy to the app before run the app.
Important note: Since SyMenu version 5.07 (New SyMenu version 5.07) the resolution for relative paths has changed so if you want use the autorun like the example, 7-Zip:
".\ProgramFiles\SPSSuite\SyMenuSuite\7-Zip_(x86)_sps\7zFM.exe" ".\ProgramFiles\SPSSuite\SyMenuSuite\7-Zip_(x64)_sps\7zFM.exe" "0"
you need save and use "SyMenuRun32or64.exe" in the SyMenu.exe dir for get the same path that the app. .New exe compilation (change if you have problems of exe disappearance) . edited by VVV_Easy_Symenu on 03/02/2017 |

Two alerts about http://www.ugmfree.it/public/SyMenuBeta/SyMenu.5.07.6205.beta.zip: (well, it's a beta and perhaps is solved yet but if nobody tells you ...) 1) Al the start, it shows always a tray tooltip of alert "Application definitions are outdated ...Nirsoft, Sysinternal" even if you have got the apps just before close in the same day. It's not translated too. I suppose that it's a new feature, but I don't find a option to disable it. 2) I see that the in the _Cache folder now the *.sps files are compresed in one zip file. ¿Is it a new feature consolidate? I ask this because the "SyMenu Published App Track" needs this sps files and I must prepare it. |

'CHANGELOG: ' 2017.01.05-V.1.3: Added Tooltips. ' Manage sps Or zip _Cache SPS Suite files. (SyMenu version superior To Version 5.07.6190 [2016.12.13]) ' Added SPS Publisher column (so the ancient ~SPSPublisherName~ becomes To ~SPSTrackerName~). ' Allows several SPS Publisher names in the SPS Tracker Name
Important Notes: As you can see in the changelog, the configuration file has change a little. You have two solutions: 1) Replace in the first line of the configuration file the ancient ~SPSPublisherName~ by ~SPSTrackerName~, for instance, ~SPSPublisherName~VVV_Easy_Symenu~/SPSPublisherName~ by ~PSTrackerName~VVV_Easy_Symenu~/SPSTrackerName~ or 2) In the first run with the ancient configuration file, write the correspondent SPS Publisher in the empty rectangle. Save in the new format. I detected some problems (for instance, saving files) with the pluging execute with Launcher (in the SPS app flavour). I recommended use in pluging flavour just to solve the problem -> CORRECTED in version 1.4b BTW: I'm open to change the flavour of the pluging and build it in true exe (not need the launcher) but this drives to loose the script flavour. We are a little number of users, we can do a poll. . edited by VVV_Easy_Symenu on 05/01/2017 edited by VVV_Easy_Symenu on 11/01/2017 |

¡You have given me a joy! The people don't give "a lot of" return of the app (well, I used it frequently and I know that is a program for a reduced number of users:
Åke Engelbrektson, Euphoria, FileVoyager, Luis Neves, Richard Lloyd, Shri Ganesh, sl23, SterJo Software, SyMenu, SyMenu Suite, tpan, VVV_Easy_Symenu, ZeDingo
Return to your questions: 1) "Problems using the plugin version": You write that your folder is symenu/plugins/ but the standart SyMenu folder is /Plugin (upper case and not plural) (see Gian topic Plugin summary) so the script no detected the folder but the plugin is detected by SyMenu. So, question for Gian ¿what names are allowed for the SyMenu pluging folder? I can adapt the program to all possibilities. 2) "allow selection of columns to show/hide": Well, I add the request to the TODO list but I think that is complicated to program and it must be associated to a config file. BTW I haven't need it never. 3) "the ability to double click on an apps name in the list to open that sps in the SPS Builder app": This is a very good idea, is a normal use when a updated is detected. I think to ways of do it: a) Edit with SPS Builder downloading from UGM: Is the best one but I think that it's very complicated to synchronize the two apps: get the username and the password, etc. b) Edit the local sps copy: It's a copy but is the same that use SysAppTrack and it very easy to pass the file path to SyMenu Builder in an argument (in fact, I tried an ¡it seems works! ¡Gian had already anticipated it!) If Gian has nothing against "First" place in the TODO List. |

I do a littke AutoHotKey script for help to clean the "orphan" icons. Run, put the SyMenu work folder, ¡Go! and the SyMenu_Orphan_Icons program read the Icons folder, search if the ico file name is present in the SyMenuItem.xml file and, if not present, then list and move the icon to a SPSSuite\SyMenuSuite\_Trash\_OrphanIcons\ (in verbose mode it list (but not move) the active icons too). I try it several times but for your own tranquillity make a copy of the Icons folder before use this Ahk script. . edited by VVV_Easy_Symenu on 29/01/2017 |

Well, it seems that I am the only user for the PAT (I adopt proudly the name, thank you, sl23) script flavour and it doesn't work very well. Really it has not sense that SyBuilder was a App and PAT a scritp so the next version 2.0, with SyBuilder conexion, will be only in app flavour. And then I wil try to make it not modal. Thanks for your opinion. |

As promised, now v.2.0.0.0 only in SyMenu Suite App flavour and with SPS Builder edit in double click. Warning: This version needs a auto SPS Builder Clean Update (change of the Main exe name). The script only preserves the *.txt file so if you have write your PAT file with other extension save it before update (and better use the auto load name 'SPS_Published_Track_File.txt' and always with *.txt extension ....) Note for Gian: SyMenu don't alert when it make a Clean Update. Perhaps would not be bad idea to alert for avoid loosing files. 'CHANGELOG: '2017.02.03-V.2.0: Futherly only SPS App flavour (not Launcher needed) named SPS Published App Track (PAT). Gian, the "Ignore en Update" files works fine and the copy in the _Trash may be enough but I think that the user must know that this update is clean. For instance, normally I clean the Trash immediately and if I know that this is a Clean Update I will wait a little. The problem is balance of the "volume" that the alert must be (in the SPS status, in the update windows, with a message box, ...). |

Thank you for your interest and help, sl23. The contextual menu is a great idea, it allows me resolve the TODO question of: "If the edit form remains not modal when I switch the form and return to the main one, and press the Edit selected button, the edit form should pop up again." Now the "supposed by user" : if checked, if selected are overloaded. And the Delete Track action in the edit form is not evident. With a contextual menu I think it will be more clear. The other things:
- "limit to single instance SPS Builder" I don't agree (even SyMenu allows open several instances of SPS Builder). PAT is for advanced users and is very useful to have several instances for copy/paste. In the TODO list there is a point of make possible several instances in the Edit form. And finally, is easy for the user limit itself.
- "open more than one instance of the same SPS file, not really a good idea" I agree but I don't know how to limit without a complicated code. Perhaps with the contextual menu will be more difficult open twice. Well, the unique good file is in UGM.
- "auto load the Track URL straight from the relevant SPS files". Really the Track URL don't have relation with the SPS URL's (Publisher web site or download Url). I will study to auto load the "Publisher web site" if not Track URL present in new Rebuild Apps-> to the TODO list.
- "Could you add a context menu for copy/paste in the webpage section?" I don't know but you have the default windows short keys Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V. Interesting but not priority.
- EDIT 2: You have detected some errors. Thank you very much, you are a very good beta tester. I want change the Edit Form to allow it several instances and not navigate between the selected items. I think is more useful because you can copy and paste easily and without download the web every time. But it takes some work of programming. ¡Stay tuned!.
Thank you again, sl23. |
