Hello folks.
I have a new beta here. Is there anyone interested in testing it?
These are the new features:
- Separate launcher - a SyContainer can be flagged to open a separate window from where its contents can be executed separately
- Thirdy party feature - in the configuration file SyMenuConfig.xml you can activate the feature to hide the unlinked items in the contextual menu. The key is located in the contextualMenu tag, attribute hideOrphanItems.
- Bug fix
Hope you will enjoy it.

EDIT: Not too sure why you added the "Folder Launcher" idea, or it's practical use over simply using the main menu? What were your reasons?
Seems to work ok though.
A minor point, regarding the tooltip... for ease of reading, create a second line halfway. When text is written without line breaks it can reduce continuity of flow a bit.
One thing I hate about some websites and forums is the long straight sentences with no breaks! I wish they used columns. Imagine reading a newspaper or magazine that didn't use columns! They're used for a reason, to facilitate the flow of reading. Anyway, rant over 
Will that hidden option become a err... non hidden option in the Options form at some point?

The folder launcher has been requested, in different forms, from several users.
The idea behind it is: I have to work on a certain topic. For that topic I have some programs to open and a bunch of documentation available. I can organize a folder launcher with all this material, so when I have to work on that particular topic, I open the corresponding folder and have all I need in the same place without opening and re-opening SyMenu several times.
Why not using a simple Windows folder with shortcuts for this task? Because with the raw Windows folders we don't have SyMenu as a launcher. SyMenu, with its action modifiers and the custom environment variables, is sometimes the only way to launch programs in the right way.
The option to hide unlinked programs should become available as a mainstream option only if you users ask for it. Until then, let's hack the configuration file

New beta ... very good news .... now testing ... thanks again for you good work.
The "Folder Launcher" for the SyContainer is a nice feature.
I have need it and I had solved it with the SyFolderLink ("...simple Windows folder with shortcuts for this task...") but, as you have said, this was not a good solution because I haven't insert SyItems only the documents an links saved in the windows folder: I shall use the new system.
A humble suggestion ... because now you have the feature of "to hide some SyItems (hideOrphanItems)" ¿why not hideAdminItems for hide the Items flagged with "Run as Admin"? and even more .... if SyMenu detects in the executable manifest and hide the programs with Admin rights .... perfect.
This feature is very interesting for me in order to use the same SyMenu with a different users (with and without admin rights) with a little change of configuration.

Now the new option to hide certain class of items exists and works and this is the most important thing.
When I clear my idea regarding a correct use for it, I'll surely include it in the options form and extend it to cover other tasks.
I like your idea for a swicth to hide the items that need admin rights. Probably another switch can be implemented to hide the Windows files and folder hidden (system) elements. And, who knows, how many others.

Thanks for explaining Gian, just wondered where the idea popped up from and it's purpose. I see how it can be useful now.
Perhaps this is a long shot, maybe you don't want to go in this direction, but...
Would it be possible and more useful to to turn this window, as an option maybe, into a simple dock? That way it could be placed on the task bar where it doesn't intrude. I realise this is covering new, possibly unwanted territory, but would definitely be a great improvement.
Especially if we could have similar abilities to existing docks such as:
1. Drag n drop
2. Not just the specified folder and it's content but any SyItem contained anywhere in the menu.
3. Dock to screen edges and auto hide
4. Basic resizing of icons and only showing icons
Sorry if I'm putting too much on you, I just thought I'd put the idea there for your perusal, it may be more useful and less obtrusive using a dock instead of a window.

What do you intend as a "dock"?
Are you speaking about a window which can dock on a desktop edge or an icon docked (pinned) in the task bar?
I dont' understand well sorry.

To be honest, either sounds good
From my personal experience, I believe a taskbar dock is best. It is always accessible and doesn't hide anything if kept on top.
But, a normal dock, like rocket dock, would be the best option as it would then be able to have the option to be placed over the taskbar, yet placed anywhere to suit other users.
So, are you actually considering this? or just gauging opinion.
It would be a great advantage to have this ability. No other menu or dock has the two features combined, none that I know of and believe me, I've searched extensively for all various menus and dock systems for years.
Hope I haven't made things more difficult for you suggesting this Gian, I know you're a busy guy!

Correct me if I'm wrong.
The taskbar docking is something similar to the Windows pin system (it's called Pin to taskbar) while che Rocket Dock docking is nothing but a window with a zoom and preview.
Is it correct?
Both features can surely be implemented, maybe the preview is not possible at all but the others probably yes.
The problem is always the same. As you say my time is limited and I have to focus my energy on prior features.
For example the last beta has two new features but the real implementation wasn't ready yet at the first release. Within some days I'll release the second beta version which will be the real beta. The real new feature for the 5.12 version will be a terrific improvement in context menu building speed.
Today, people with hundreds or even thousand items suffer for a long refresh time. The context menu refresh occurs whenever you add/remove/update an SPS, when you change an item configuration, when you change theme or, naturally, when you force a refresh directly from the menu.
Personally I "only" have 870 items in my SyMenu and the time I spend watching a freezed floating button because the menu is refreshing, is a badly spent time. So with the next beta the menu loading will be always partial. SyMenu will load only the first level item (one sec wait) and will load the deepest levels only when needed.
I hope you will appreciate this time saving feature at least as much as I'm appreciating it

Er... yeah I suppose that's how it works? I think you'd have a better idea than me
I don't expect a Rocket Dock reproduction, just a basic line of icons that you can apply the SyConfig/EnvVar's to. But something that can be docked wherever you want/need to be more productive.
If possible, maybe at a later date, add the containers, or even a completely separate config?
Or have the same list but add an option to hide any specific item on the dock. Or perhaps the other way around... Show on dock?
Anything that saves time is surely a bonus!
Only 870!!! I thought mine was a large collection at 588! That's including some windows apps, some install files and bookmarked folders though.
