Your request is not stupid at all.
Marking a program through Windows maybe solves your contextual problem but in case you use SyMenu and the program to run in elevated mode in several computers (in portable mode) you need this feature because the run as admin option has to be stored in SyMenu and not in Windows.

I feel stupid. Forgot about simply marking the application to open as admin in Windows' compatibility options. However it's still a worthwhile feature request for convenience and portability.

BTW the discussion link was http://www.ugmfree.it/Forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=361. Sorry.

Thank you so much for considering my request! I am really falling in love with Symenu, particularly because it performs Windows Start searches as well as Symenu searches. I install a lot of new systems and Symenu cuts down on my setup time tremendously. I will be donating.

You can always elevate applications through the contextual menu (select the action modifier with the shield icon and click on your application) but your idea for a new feature that allows elevation during autostart/autoclose is great. I'll implement it soon.

P.S.
Your discussion link is uncorrect so I can't understand what you are referring to.

Hello and thanks for SyMenu!

I hunted around but couldn't find an answer to my question:

Is there a way to elevate individual applications -- particularly for autostart items? I saw a discussion here: http://www.ugmfree.it/Forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=361 but no solution. I do not want to elevate the entire SyMenu because that will elevate all portable apps and present a security risk (in browsers for example.)

Specifically, I need to autostart items such as Processhacker and eXpresso, and they need elevated privileges to work properly. There is never a time when they don't need elevation.

Thank you in advance.
Symenu 4.12
Win7x64 & Win10x64
edited by gggirlgeek on 29/08/2015
edited by gggirlgeek on 31/08/2015
